Russian world number 32 DANILL MEDVEDEV beat 12th ranked and fan favourite KEI NISHIKORI  6-2 6-4   in 62 minutes to win his third ATP title of the season in Tokyo on Sunday in the JAPAN OPEN.

NISHIKORI has now lost eight ATP finals since his last victory at the MEMPHIS OPEN in February 2016.

The 22-year-old Russian dominated the first set, which he wrapped up in 25 minutes after 11 unforced errors from NISHIKORI.

Elsewhere world number 34  NIKOLOZ BASILASHVILI defeated world number four and 2018 US OPEN finalist  JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO in straight sets6-4 6-4   in the final of the CHINA OPEN.

With these victories DANILL MEDVEDEV and NIKOLOZ BASILLASHVILI have moved up to 22 and 23 respectively on the latest ATP RANKINGS released on Monday.
