SUPER FALCONS of Nigeria suffered a 0-1 defeat  to BAYANA BAYAN of SOUTH-AFRICA   on Sunday in  CAPE COAST in the on-going  11TH  WOMEN’S AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS (AWCON) in GHANA.

The defending champions wasted a lot of chances in the first half with DESIRE OPARANOZIE the worst culprit.

The SOUTH – AFRICAN however found the breakthrough in the 85th minute of the second half through THEMBI KGATLANA  to claim all three points .

In the other GROUP B game the CHIPOLOPO QUEENS defeated their EQUATORIAL GUINEAN counterparts by 5-0

The super falcon will play Zambia in the second game while emerging women football powerhouse EQUATORIAL GUINEA will be waiting in the wings in the third match.

Only the top three finishers in Ghana will represent AFRICA in France next year summer.
