Nigeria’s SUPER EAGLES on Friday in the city of ASABA, DELTA STATE struggled to a 3-1  victory  over  the PIRATES of SEYCHELLES  in a dead rubber encounter to finish top position in GROUP E of the 2019 AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS QUALIFIER.

Nigeria took the lead from the penalty spot after 34 minutes through striker ODION IGHALO after WILFRED NDIDI was fouled inside the six yard box.

SEYCHELLES drew level on 41st minutes, through   RODY MELANIE   who benefited from an error by first choice goalkeeper, FRANCIS UZOHO .

GALATASARAY of TURKEY point-man, HENRY  ONYEKURU  restored  Nigeria’s lead in the 50th minute, through a header assisted by  JAMILU COLLINS.

Substitute MOSES SIMON scored Nigeria’s third goal on 90th minutes when he connected a low shot from inside the box.

Three-time African champions, Nigeria therefore will return to the AFCON tournament for  the  first  time  in  five years after missing the last two editions.

SOUTH AFRICA and LIBYA will play the other game in this group in TUNISIA on Sunday to determine the other team to advance to the AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS in EGYPT in June.
