TEAM ANAMBRA has won the 10th EDITION of the South East Cricket Championship after defeating Enugu State in the final match.

 The final took place on Sunday at THE PAUL UNIVERSITY CRICKET PITCH, Awka, Anambra State Capital.

Both teams first met in the preliminary which Anambra subdued Enugu to carry the day.

 Speaking before the finals, NWOKIKE NZUBE Nigerian under 19 hero at the recent ICC World Cup in South Africa, said he was looking forward to retain the Chuma Anosike Cup won by Anambra last year in Afikpo.

NZUBE said though they won Enugu State in the round robin but nothing stopping Anambra to beat Enugu again in the final.

“It is very good to meet them again in the final of the laudable stride edition which made it a decade of the South East Cricket Championship existent this year will gear up the spirit.

“Last year we defeated in the final in Afikpo and this year will be though because Enugu would want to revenge but we will not rest on our Oasis because we as well want to retain the cup and superiority over them.

“I must tell you that my experience at the last ICC World Cup in South Africa come to play in this championship which really raise the standard of this championship , NZUBE said.

The Champions Team Anambra was presented with a  trophy  by the sponsor BARRISTER CHUMA ANOSIKE and the Chairman Anambra State Sports Commission.
