Former world champion KIMI RAIKONNEN won his first race in five and a half years, on Sunday in the US GRAND PRIX in TEXAS.

The veteran FINN who finished second in qualifying  took advantage of MERCEDES pit stops to claim the leader for most part of the race and eventually won a race widely believed would be won by MERCEDES LEWIS HAMILTON after the four time champion started on pole but ended with the 3rd position while title rival SEBASTIAN VETTEL  finished fourth.

The  dramatic race saw REDBULL MAX VESTAPPEN finished 3rd  on the podium after starting from 18th position.

HAMILTON currently  leads his closest rival with  70-point  with three races remaining.
