BY RAPHAEL EKPANG
Nigerians from all works of life have called on the leadership of the NIGERIA FOOTBALL FEDERATION, NFF to consider the new Women Hall of Fame inductee, MAUREEN NMADU as the head coach of the SUPER FALCONS.
Leading the campaign, Nigeria’s most decorated athlete, CHIEF MARY ONYALI (MFR) said considering the experience NMADU has gathered over the years in football locally and internationally and coupled with her induction into the Nigeria Women Hall of Fame, the federation can only compliment that with an appointment as the Head Coach of the women national team, which she is currently the assistant to a foreign coach.
Also, MRS RONKE BELLO, a gender activist said NMADU has the pedigree to tinker the SUPER FALCONS to greater height if giving the role to lead the coaching crew.
However, the NFF second vice president, SHEHU DIKKO maintained that NMADU will definitely become the Super Falcons head coach someday but appealed to Nigerians to give the current coach of the team a little chance to proof his worth.
According him, “Let Nigerians stop been sentimental, this foreign coach is a very good coach; he came with a plan so let’s give him chance to proof his worth. It’s going to be very easy to transform the team because they have a very good working understanding with his assistances, Maureen inclusive.
“So let us support them to achieve in their task and not to bring our sentiment to bear at this stage,” he said.
