League leaders PLATEAU UNITED of JOS remain in pole position for the 2016/2017 NPFL  title after a hard won draw away to LOBI STARS of MARKURDI in a match-day 31 encounter on Sunday  at the APER AKU STADIUM, MARKUDI. The KENNEDY BOBOYE tutored boys still maintains a five-point lead with seven games to go.  In other games defending champions RANGERS INTERNATIONAL of ENUGU lost away to new boys ABS of ILORIN by 2-0.  Goals from ABUBAKAR  CHINDO  and WASIU ALALADE was enough to keep the champions in the relegation zone.   Former champions KANO PILLARS of KANO were invincible at home with a 2-0 victory over another ‘’new boys’’ REMO STARS of SAGAMU.

In IBADAN veteran campaigners, 3SC of IBADAN piped seven time champions ENYIMBA INTERNATIONAL  of ABA by a lone goal courtesy of ABAYOMI ADEBAYO in the 8th minutes of the game at the ADAMASINGBA STADIUM while FC IFEANYI UBA of NNEWI gave away a two goals  lead to concede a draw to visiting  GOMBE UNITED at the ‘’FORTRESS’’.

It was a five goal thriller in the re-scheduled game between MFM of LAGOS and KATSINA UNITED at the AGEGE STADIUM on MONDAY.  Goals  from  league  top  scorer  STEPHEN ODEY and SIKIRU OLATUNBOSUN  gave the host a 2-goals lead in the first half before an inspired KASTINA UNITED levelled 2-2 with a brilliant free-kick from DESTINY ASHADI and another goal from OBINNA ELEJE  in the second half to silence the AGEGE crowd.

However, it took the brilliance of CHUKWUKA ONUWA in the 78th minute to rescue the day for the OLUKOYA BOYS with the third and winning goal.
