One of the busiest cities in Africa, LAGOS   will be agog  as  27 foreign participants will converge in Lagos to take part in the ICC LEVEL 1 COACHING and UMPIRING  COURSES.

The participants from GHANA, CAMERON, SIERRA LEONE,  MALI and The GAMBIA will be joining their counterparts from Nigeria for the 2 courses which starts on Monday 6th May and ends 10th of May.

According to JUSTINE  LIGYALINGI , the Development Officer-ICC AFRICA who has worked so hard for the realisation of this dream said “this is the  first time it is happening in the West Africa region … All the best with both courses and we trust Nigeria Cricket Federation will be wonderful Hosts.

Meanwhile back home, the President of NCF PROF. YAHAYA UKWENYA in his message to the NCF secretariat urged that every plan must be precise to give our fellow African brothers  and Instructors a great learning experience.

The Vice President of NCF,  UYI AKPATA has also monitored all the preparations by the 3 man LOC that has ENDURANCE OFEM (NCF Dev. Committee Chair), DAHIRU ENESI (Tech Rep in NCF Board) and RICHSON TETTEH.

The Level 1 Coaching and instructors course will be led by the following CSA Instructors ; ANTHONIE FERREIRA,  CHRISTOPHER CARDOSO  and  JOLENE DIPPENAAR while the Umpiring wing will be manned by BRAD WHITE and STEPHEN HARRIS.

The participants are expected to arrive on Sunday for the events scheduled to hold at the TARAWA BALEWA SQUARE CRICKET OVAL in Lagos.

Apart from the theoretical works, practical sessions will be organised to drive home the course modules.

Feelers from all the Presidents of the Federations and the participants  show they are excited on the new platform provided by ICC for training of the Coaches and Umpires and they look forward to replicating what they will learnt from the courses in the growth of the game in the sub region.
