The Polish quartet of KAROL ZALEWSKI, RAFAL OMELKO, LUKASZ KRAWCZUK, JAKUBKRZEWINA broke the world indoor record* in the men’s 4x400m with a stunning finish to the final track event of the IAAF WORLD INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS BIRMINGHAM 2018.

TEAM USA led for the first three legs with FRED KERLEY, MICHAEL CHERRYand ALDRICH BAILEYcovering the first 1200 metres in 2:16.33, putting them on course for a world record but USA’s anchor leg runner Vernon Norwood was unable to shake off the challenge from POLAND’S KRZEWINA over the final two laps. The polish team crossed the finish line in 3:01.77.
