AMOKACHI SET TO BECOME FIRST EX-INTERNATIONAL TO HEAD SPORTS AS MINISTER
BY RAPHAEL EKPANG
Ex-International, DANIEL AMOKACHI might be the first Nigerian ex-international to be appointed as the Minister of Sports, if information at our disposal is anything to go by.
‘DA BULL’ as the former assistant coach of the Super Eagles is fondly called by his fans has allegedly found favour in the Presidency as such is being considered for the position of Sports Minister.
Amokachi could become the first retired Professional footballer to mount the top office in the nation’s sports’ sector according to the source.
Gongnews.net gathered exclusively that AMOKACHI has the support of the wife of the President, MRS. AISHA BUHARI to become the next Sports Minister in Nigeria, considering that as ex-supper Eagles player and an assistant coach of the team he could be in a better position to lift the sector from its present condition.
A source from the Presidency says that her Excellency, AISHA BUHARI has mentioned his name to his Excellency, PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI her husband for consideration believing that her request will see the light of the day.
Also, our source says that MRS. AISHA BUHARI believes in a school of thought that a round peck should be put in a round-hole the reason she took it upon herself to shop for a capable hand from the sector who can redeem the country from the mess our pasts leaders have plunged us into over the years.
Meanwhile information has it that the Department of the State Service (DSS) has cleared 21 ministerial nominees
