Nigerian born Coach EMMANUEL AMUNEKE  on  Sunday made history in DAR ES SALAAM,TANZANIA  when he qualified the TAIFA STARS of TANZANIA to the AFCON FINALS for the first time since 1980.

Tanzania beat rivals Uganda 3-0 to finish second in GROUP L  to  pick a first AFCON ticket in 39 years in a group that also had LESOTHO and CAPE VERDE.

UGANDA went into the derby in TANZANIA having not conceded a single goal during their entire 2019 Nations Cup qualifying campaign.

That record however  ended in the 21st minute with SIMON MSUVA beating MAMELODI SUNDOWNS  of  SOUTH AFRICA  shot stopper  DENIS ONYANGO in the  UGANDAN  goal.

Veteran   ERASTO  NYONI  added  a  second  after the  break  while  AGGREY MORRIS made  it 3-0 to TANZANIA to wrap up the victory.

Meanwhile in another GROUP L encounter LESOTHO drew goalless away to CAPE VERDE both teams are therefore eliminated as TANZANIA and UGANDA picked up the two available slots from the group.

It means four East African teams – TANZANIA, UGANDA, BURUNDI and KENYA will play at the finals in Egypt.
