FOLUSHO ALADE

 

TEAM NIGERIA dominated the SPRINTS EVENTS on Day 2 of the on-going AFRICAN ATHLETICS CONFEDERATION CAA U18&U20 CHAMPIONSHIPS in ABIDJAN yesterday.

FAVOUR OFILI won gold for TEAM NIGERIA in the 400m, U18 women’s category while 2018 YOUTH OLYMPICS gold medallist ROSEMARY CHUKWUMA   won  gold in the  100metres  dash for women.

ENOCH ADEGOKE was the star performer as he clinched the gold medal for TEAM NIGERIA in the MEN’S U20 100metres race with a SEASON BEST of 10.27sec ahead of SOUTH AFRICA’S   LUKE DAVIDS.

Recall ADEGOKE was also a finalist at the 2018  COMMONWEALTH  GAMES  in GOLDCOAST, AUSTRALIA.

Team Nigeria now has a total of  Eleven medals after two days of competition at the JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The events continue on Thursday for day 3 hostilities.

The AFRICAN ATHLETICS CONFEDERATION U18&U20 CHAMPIONSHIPS tagged “Abidjan 2019”runs between the 16  April to 20 April at the STADE FELIX HOUPHOUET BOIGNY in ABIDJAN the capital of COTE I’VOIRE.
